General Note
Original title: Lessons in chemistry.
Description
Wszyscy z wyjątkiem jednego: to Calvin Evans, nominowany do Nagrody Nobla i słynący z pamiętliwości samotny geniusz, który zakochuje w umyśle Elizabeth.
Description
Elizabeth Zott is a chemist and a woman far from average. Besides, she would be ready to be the first to point out to the interlocutor that there is no such thing as an "average woman". But it's the mid-1950s and her colleagues in the all-male research team at Hastings Research Institute take a very unscientific approach to gender equality. All but one: Calvin Evans, the Nobel Prize nominee and reclusive genius who falls in love with Elizabeth's mind. Which results in genuine chemistry. But, like science, life can be unpredictable. So, a few years later, Elizabeth Zott is not only a single mother, but also, quite reluctantly, the star of America's number one culinary show: Dinner at Six. Her unusual approach to cooking ("To a tablespoon of acetic acid, add a pinch of sodium chloride") becomes the beginning of a revolution. However, as the legions of its supporters grow, so does the group of dissatisfied ones. It turns out that Elizabeth doesn't just teach women how to cook, she does much more than encourages them to change the status quo. Ridiculously funny, piercingly accurate and enhanced by an all-star cast of supporting characters, Chemistry Lessons is as original and dynamic as its protagonist.
